A weird little poem, hope you like it!




I might be who you think I am to be, but be weary of who I might be - someone else altogether:

I am a calm surface of water that belies a maelstrom of swirling currents beneath.
I am a puffy white cloud water that belies a treacherous storm of wind and ice above.
I am a harmless snowy peak that belies a red hot beast of rock and fire within.

I am a peasant whose unassuming face belies a soldier who strikes with a ready sword.
I am a farmer whose rough hands belies fingers that dance with needles and embroidery.
I am a midget whose small size belies a heart that beats like that of a noble king.

I am a dolphin whose innocent smile belies a dark creature that murders juveniles.
I am a cheetah whose small bulk belies a will to save my young from the raging lions.
I am a duck on the pond whose surface calm belies the rapid churning of my webbed feet.
